Burst Test Rig - Thermopol |  |
|
An application was given to us for a burst test rig to dynamically test the burst pressure of automotive turbocharger hoses. The unit had to incorporate various sizes of hose and would need to show the final burst pressure on a digital readout. INGENIA designed and manufactured a compact system using an air driven, hydraulic pump to achieve the high water pressure required for the test. The machine also had to incorporate a water reservoir, filters and a control system that could be accurately set. The rig shown here is manufactured in Bosch aluminium profile and features a welded plastic fabrication for the main tank. This makes for a sturdy but lightweight machine that gives improved durability in a wet environment. The control system features digital readouts that show the final burst pressure and can also use simple software to download a data curve to an Excel spreadsheet for further analysis. |
